Encourage Your Child To Read this Summer

School is out for summer! However, that is no excuse to stop reading. Below are some tips that will keep your child reading all summer long.

Do Your Homework
Is your child stumped on what book they'd like to read? Do some research to find a new book your child will enjoy. After all, they are more likely to read if the book appeals to them.

Make Reading A Priority
Set aside a specific time of day when your child should read. Not only will this allow your child to read every day, it will show them that reading is a priority.

Check Out The Public Library
Reading doesn't have to be an expensive activity. After all, the local library has books you can read for free! Make sure you get your child a library card. In addition, libraries often host free events for children.

Most of all, show your child that reading can be fun! At Miss Sue's, our learning centers emphasize individual growth through language arts. Every day our children are involved with interactive language experiences. Please call us for an appointment or with any questions at 516-938-0894.
