How Art Inspires Children To Be Creative

Exposing children to art at an early age is extremely important--as it can spark the imagination. Below are some tips you can implement at home to spark your child's creativity through art.

Things Might Get Messy
It isn't likely that you child will always color within the lines. With that said, it is important to anticipate that your child might make a mess. Make sure your child has a designated area to create art. Lay down old newspapers or a drop cloth to be on the safe side.

Do Not Tell Them What To Create
Avoid telling your child what he or she should make. Instead, let your child's imagination take over! That way, your child has complete control and artistic freedom.

Ask Questions
To show your child that you are interested in what they are making, ask them meaningful questions. For example, ask them why they chose certain colors and what the piece of art means to them.

At Miss Sue's, we encourage children to express themselves through art on a daily basis. We understand how important it is to have a creative outlet. Are you looking for a nursery school that will foster your child's creativity? If so, look no further than Miss Sue's! Call 516-938-0894 to inquire about enrollment.
