How To Promote Curiosity and Learning in Toddlers

It is no secret that toddlers are curious by nature. It is important to nurture this natural curiosity and let them explore. Below are some helpful tips on how to keep curiosity alive.

Ask Questions
Toddlers are aware that some questions cannot be answered with a simple yes or no. They require further explanation. Asking your child an open-ended question can stimulate their imagination and get them to come up an interesting answer.

Encourage Children To Pursue Their Interests
When your child has an interest in a sport or activity, encourage them to pursue it. Children learn more when they are genuinely interested in a topic or activity. A little encouragement goes a long way!

Child's Play
Playtime may seem like fun and games, but it is another opportunity for children to learn about the world around them. Giving your toddler toys, blocks or play dough helps them unleash their creativity and curiosity.

At Miss Sue’s Nursery School, our prime educational goal is the development of the whole child. We have a multi-sensory, holistic approach to learning. Our learning centers emphasize problem solving, self-confidence, self-esteem and independence. If this is the type of environment you want from a nursery school,  enroll your child today. Please call us for an appointment or with any questions (24 hours/7 days a week) at 516-938-0894.
