How To Protect Your Child From The Sun

When the weather is nice, many Long Islanders head to the beach. Whenever you are spending time outdoors, it is important to be mindful that the sun is always shining on you. Below are some tips to keep your child protected from the sun.

Wear Sunscreen
Wearing sunscreen is a must. According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, it is best to put a broad spectrum sunscreen on your child. Remember to reapply it every 30 minutes.

Find a Shady Spot
If your child has very sensitive skin, it is always a good idea to seek shade whenever possible. Wearing a hat or spending time under a beach umbrella will protect your child from the sun.

See the World through Sunglasses
Don't forget about protecting their eyes! The American Optometric Association suggests wearing sunglasses that block out UVA and UVB radiation.

We hope that tips above help your child stay safe while having fun in the sun. Once the summer is over, your child may be eligible for nursery school. Looking for a superior nursery school on Long Island? If so, choose Miss Sue's Nursery School! Don't wait until the summer is over to enroll. Call 516-938-0894 today to inquire about enrollment.
